Open House at Gather: Wednesday, September 2, 5:30 to 7:30 PM

Most people meet Gather through photos. Photos are good at showing a room and bad at answering the questions you actually have: how loud is it when forty people are talking, where does the light land at six in the evening, does the patio really work as a second room, and is there enough space to put a bar somewhere that is not in the way.

Those are standing-in-the-room questions. So we are opening the doors.

What is happening

It is an open house, not a presentation. There is no scheduled program, nobody will make you sit through a slideshow, and you can stay for ten minutes or the whole two hours.

• Walk the whole space at your own pace, indoor hall and outdoor patio.
• Light bites and drinks.
• Meet the people who actually run events here, not a sales rep you will never see again.
• A few of the local vendors we work with will be on site to talk through what they do.
• Ask about specific dates. We can check availability while you are standing here.

Who this is for

Anyone with an event in the next year or two and no venue yet:

• Couples planning a micro-wedding, ceremony, or reception for up to 50 guests.
• Anyone hosting a bridal or baby shower and tired of restaurant back rooms.
• Milestone birthdays, retirement parties, anniversary dinners, quinces.
• Corporate planners looking for an off-site, client dinner, or team celebration space.
• Photographers and content creators who want to see the light before booking an hourly shoot.

Two things worth knowing before you come

We are an open-vendor venue. Bring your own caterer, food truck, restaurant order, or bakery. Alcohol has to be served by certified, insured bartenders, and we can recommend partners or fold bar service into a package.

Weekday events are the quiet bargain here. Monday through Thursday rentals start at a $400 minimum, which is why an open house on a Wednesday is a fair preview of what a weekday party at Gather actually costs. Full day-of-week pricing lives on the pricing page.

Getting here and parking

• 1347 Locust St, in the middle of downtown Walnut Creek.
• Multiple public garages within a two-minute walk, plus street parking on Locust and the adjacent streets.
• Minutes from Walnut Creek BART and freeway-friendly from anywhere in the East Bay.
• Dozens of restaurants and bars within a few blocks, so make a night of it.

If September 2 does not work

Private tours run year round and you do not have to wait for an open house. Send us your date and we will get back to you with availability, or look through the gallery first if you want to narrow things down before you visit.

Either way: see the space, then come stand in it. The second one is the part that decides it.
